Can anyone help me explain to my mom why I want to get a nose job and how it feel after surgery?

November 13th, 2009 | by admin |

Here’s the deal, I ve been wanting to change my nose ever since I was little. You see it has like this bump on it and it’s totally humiliating. I ve been asking my mom for one for years but she never wants to talk about it. She tells me that I shouldn’t change it but she grew up in china and has a chinese nose so she doesn’t know who I feel because everyone had a nose like her where she lived. My nose is just some random thing, I mean no one in my family has a nose like me. I ve been teased alot about it in school and my confidence in myself is really really low. I even cover my face with my long hair. I’m sick of it! I want to tell my mom, but I just can’t seem to explain it to her. I also stay all day on the computer searching Rhinoplasty but my mom just won’t listen when I try to explain what it is. Can anyone help me find a way to tell my mom how I feel? (without getting her mad?) Oh and could anyone explain how it feels and the procedure?

Sorry… I have a cute nose

Explain to your mom that a young woman’s vanity is of vital importance. It will also boost your confidence and self esteem.

The surgeon cuts the skin around your nose, and pulls it up out of the way. Then, they shape the bone and cartilage beneath to your specifications. Then the outer skin is sutured.

You will experience a lot of post-op pain, which can be alleviated with prescription pain killers.

Well, I have a cousin who had a similar experience. He had a small blemish in the structure of his nose.

While the surgery may not seem acceptable to her, make sure it’s clear that even if the change is minimal, the effect it will have on your self-esteem is enormous.

He had his surgery and barely anybody noticed. But, however, they did notice his immense mood change and boost in confidence.

Good luck and have a great surgery!

Number one…..you need to have help when you talk to your mom…perhaps your school counselor. Mom needs to understand the importance of your self esteem and how the incongruous shape of your nose is undermining your budding personality…or, something like that…anyway….

Call and get an appointment with a specialist, you and your mother. The surgeon will help put your mother at ease about the procedure. But you must remember, your mother is of a wholly different culture than ladies here. If necessary, you may have to respect her demands until you are old enough to have the procedure done without Mom’s permission.

It hurts, it swells, it bruises, and then it heals. It is basically an in/out procedure.

I wish you luck, but nothing we say here is going to change your mother’s mind, just as all the research you’ve done won’t change it, either.

Getting a nose job is a serious decision. But consider these questions

Did, your friendsm parents, or boyfriend bring up the idea of a nose job?
Are you obsessed with your nose? Do you think about it for more than housr each day?
Do you think a new nos will make you popular or help you find a boyfriend.

If you answered yes to ANY of the following questions, a nose job isn’t for you!

If your under 16, yuor nose isn’t ready for surgery, it’s not fully developed.
it’s very expensice about $3000 to $10 000. If u will get one get a reliable doctor, not a cheap one.

There are major risks, 10% of patients need a second surgury to fix complications. Even the best surgeon can screw up!!

Recovery is very s . .l . .o . .w. Patients need at least one month to recupperate. Rest 4 1 week, no excercise for 3 weeks. Bruises shhould go away in 2 weeks, although all swelling will take 1 year to go away. Your nose will get very, very congested.

Personally I think no one should get a rhinoplasty. People only tese you more, because u let them tease u. Put your hair up, 4GET ABOUT YOUR NOSE! and strut your stuff in skool and don’t let anyone put you down. If u ask me, U have a confidence issue, NOT a nose issue!

The reason why people wait until they are adults to have surgery is because as a teenager you are still growing and your hormones are changing, this needs to be settled before you can think about doing anything as drastic as surgery, also some places require that you be 18.
