Whats wrong with the Chinese. So far this is not the way to be a respected superpower?

China is set to become the next superpower. Ok, so what .. big job and so far history has proven that no one has been able to get it right yet. According to history, Asian people hate to loose face so , why have the Chinese been loosing so much of late.

As a whole I think that China might be one of the best superpowers so far but the actions so far only show they are no different from any would be hegemonic usurpers

The sleeping dragon has too many mouths to feed. Eventually China will collapse under it’s own weight. They may have the worlds strongest economy but they have the population that could match 3 or 4 of the largest populated countries.

India will soon be a dominate force in the world.

Lets not forget poisoning children with melamine and lead.

OH, and their horrific human trafficking problems. OH, and their one child rule which is a travesty of human right.

You seem to have this notion that China gives a damn what the rest of the world thinks, they don’t. Only western nations care about how they look and treat geopolitics like its a damn popularity contest.

lol the UK and USA done all this and worse!!!

And why should they be any different? Its still the human race thats controlling these monsters! Its not all of a sudden run by people who care for more than cash because thats all what it comes down to.

So my point really – whoever is the world superpower will always be just as bad (if not worse) than the one before. They have no reason to change.

To be honest, I can never see the Chinese as a true superpower. Firstly, their government structure and censorship really does hurt the ability to progress and allow people to push for bigger improvements. Secondly, the Chinese education is really just crunching memory. They memorize EVERYTHING. While you can argue that the Chinese easily is more prepared for mathematics and other subjects than Americans, I can tell you right now they are not as well prepared for innovation. What the Chinese lack is a sense of creativity, they are an industrial nation, a lot of major products are outsourced and produced by them. However, there are not many Chinese corporations that share that same power. They lack the creativity, ambition, and innovation that America has. In the US, a kid can say, "I will create so and so business and it will have this and this product" and guess what? It is a possibility.

A superpower would be considered "best" if they did not own all of the US’s debt. Superpowers have superior military’s. With a 3 million man army, the US troops on foreign soil (including the national guard), and China’s eminent Domain rights…I would never consider their superpower-ness to be a good thing.

Thomas, you have to be living in LaLa Land to believe China is not innovated. You know they are the top of the line when it comes to transportation, technology, medicine, nano technology, right? You say the Chinese "lack creativity and ambition" but do you know the average health, grades, and artistic ability of an American high school student vs a Chinese high school student? And you said "Math"as if it is such a boring advantage. Math is the universal language, and if you dont know how to speak it, you are left out of the conversation. ANY nation that is not educated well in math is a nation that either stays in the underdeveloped world, or crumbles back into it.

first off i got nothing against chinese people,
they WILL NOT be the next superpower. think about it: 99.9% of their economy is dependent on creating cheap products for OTHER countries. their ceiling is ONLY to be the second banana to united states(its no.1 customer)

First of all, who cares about the animals or climate bill? Second of all, their civil rights issues are issues of their own. Just because they are growing into a powerhouse doesn’t mean they are going to play nice. You have to remember, they have millions in their military forces and really don’t care what anyone else thinks right now. They will collapse from their own demise, they will step on someone’s toes and will fall again.

But you forget…it doesn’t help the case much when the governments of the USA and the UK tell the Chinese government "Hey,we have another 100,000 jobs for you guys"!

Don’t we (The West) turn a blind eye to the executions carried out in Saudi Arabia, because it suites us – Oil ! Come on, much of our Foreign Policy stinks, we can hardly claim the moral high ground here. So it’s someone else’s turn to grab the reign’s; Lets see if the common folk of the world can fair any better under this new up and coming regime – It’s not as if we have a choice anyway. And I don’t believe it can escape the predominance of Western Culture, culminating in an absorption/morphism of some of it’s finer aspects (we do have a lot).
p.s. As the Borg would say, ‘We are about to be assimilated’ lol
