Title of old chinese drama series?

There was a great chinese drama aired a few year ago (Almost a decade ago, give or take a few years). The story was set in "ancient china" (when they went with those traditional robes and outfits) The language spoken in it was mandarin and the lead actor was a young boy (about 10-11 years old) as a buddhist monk. He went by the name "Kai Xin" (Happy) and had an elder brother (or he might have been a cousin) and was pretty good at martial arts. He was the 11th something (son maybe) of some important character (perhaps it was the king) – also supposed to be next to succeed an important position but used some kind of glass object to reflect the sunlight so that it burned the character for number 1 in the scroll when the messenger was reading out a will or sth –> his cousin/brother got the position instead (because he was the 10th sth in line). There was kung fu involved a lot of the time in the series and some supernatural stuff as well. "Kai Xin"s mother’s face had a big red spot covering half of her face after some kin of accident. Another memorable character was a goofy adult who was bald and made stupid jokes.
The genre of it might have been something along the lines of action, drama, comedy

As you can see, I don’t remember much about it. If anyone knows which series this possibly could be, it’d be of great help if you answered! =)

I think this is what you want. Thanks for mentioning the character Kai Xin, I found it with that.

I’m usually good with Oriental TV, but you really got me here.

Vicky, don’t be a thick loser! It WAS NOT Monkey! That was about a monk going to India with his disciples which is clearly NOT what is being described here. Idiot!

And before anyone suggests it, it wasn’t The Water Margin or Empress Wu either!
