I just moved from England to America and all I hear is ‘let’s be rich’, everywhere! Like even at church – God will make me rich and I can buy and eat what I want!
I just say – for you to be mega rich, someone has to starve and be poor. So that’s the message in the capitalist world, for every rich person there has to be a poor person. References :
Those statements can me stereotypical, but anyways, yeah that is saying that the world is unequal, unfair, and unbalanced. It is saying that Americans and Europeans should help out Africans and Chinese. But they don’t. There are starving Americans who are in poverty, and there are rich Africans…. Anyways, the point is, YES. The world is a horrible place. References :
There are wealthy people, hungry people, greedy and corrupt people in all countries. There is just a different ratio between the ‘haves’ and the ‘have-nots’ in different countries. Money corrupts no matter where we live. References :
I am assuming you mean a large number of these citizens fit your categories.
On that note, I would guess that the economies of Europe and America are doing rather well at present…While the economy of China is emerging….and many African nations are locked in domestic violence and war. Unfortunately, many of the African conflicts are instigated by the oligarchy for domination of the natural resources of the area….
I recommend reading John Le Carre’s novel "The Constant Gardener" and take a look at some of the reasons that corruption exists in Africa.
Also, anything written by Wilbur Smith ….usually has some African history to it.
James Clavell wrote "Shogun" "Gaijin" and "Nobel House". Each novel gives a fairly good picture of some of the struggles that Japan and China have been through in the last three hundred years or so. References :
