How to tell the difference between Asian faces and eyes?

Is there a specific way to tell the difference?Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese and Korean?

For the girl who commented saying there is no difference between the looks of the Frenchman and an Armenian, that is false. All Europeans look very different too, it is just that you have never been to Europe most likely and think that all white people look like the white people in the US, who are all mostly Irish, English, and German. The same goes for Africans and Asians. The guy in the picture is probably from the British isles, he looks northern European.

Asians look different too, but I mainly judge by their last name. Chineses are more darker then the Japanese and the Koreans, however the Koreans look more like the Chinese then the Japanese. The Philipinos are some of the darkest in Asia. Vietnamese people look like the Chinese people, Cambodians look far different then Vietnamese people. Indians look more middle eastern the more west you go, Mongolians look Inuit, more like native Americans. Those are my observations in the Asian anthropolgy, and anthropology and analyzing the human race is not racist, because I am not degrading anyone, I am just stating fact.

people have flat faces, flat nose, and flat booty. also they have huge knees, and tiny asian eyes. they have hair so straight that it looks similar to hay.

indians have a straight pointy , and thin nose, big eyes, more hair, and has more caucasian features than a chino. our hair is thicker and stronger, and straight.

  3. You can’t do that anymore than you can tell the difference between French and Armenian faces and eyes. Why does everyone always pick on the Asians?

Can you honestly tell by looking at this person’s face and eyes what country his ancestors are from?

    Yes, I agree with Teutonköning..Very good answer…

ps: In general, Thai,Indonesian and Filipino are darker and they have face features a liitle bit similar to Latinoamericans…And they are beautiful girls…
But also, it depends what you mean by "Asian"…Indians are Asians too, aren’t they?…I am currently in love with an Indian actress, Freida Pinto ( Latika in " Slumdog Millionaire" movie)…She is so gorgeous…

  6. @ teutonke….. those chinese you have seen were from the south and tend to be tanner. Have you seen northern chinese, they are paler than japanese ?

Do you know that we have people look like korean and vietnames where they share the borders with ? DO you know that we have people look like japanese, because they are just 1 hour flight away from each other ?

Do you know how big china is and how big differences we look between south and north even among chinese ?

To be honest, even me, an asian, sometimes cant tell asians apart.

  10. Well, I’m Asian and I do see the differences… I can tell from the way they dress, how they interact and their hairstyles. Judging from eyes is a bit tricky, since it’s common for Koreans and Japanese people to have eye corrections and nosejobs. They do tend to have a preference for specific features, like Japs love to have big round eyes, small noses, small and puffy lips. IMO Koreans prefer a more natural look, but still with bigger eyes and noses with caucasian features. Now I’m not saying that all of them had an eye-correction or a nose job ;) . But please don’t assume that every Asian with big eyes had an eye-correction after reading this! Because not all Asians have small eyes ;) .

Viets are often tinier, darker and have a bit of squared face. Unless they are mixed, then it’s harder to tell… Chinese people from different regions have their own specific features.

That they all look the same, is just bs. Do all blondes, brunettes or redheads look the same? I don’t think so.

  11. There is no way to tell 100% of the time. Even between the different races, there are people that are exceptions. Like Mao Ying, for example. You can generalize all asian men as being short and scrawny but that doesn’t mean that mao ying is necessarily of another race or fake or mixed to be so tall. You can generalize "typical" appearances but there will always be atypical people. Also, there have been mixing between the different nationality. There have been Koreans that moved to Japan and lived their lives as Japanese people if they could get away with it, etc, etc.

A good example is the differences and similarities between me and my asian friends. I have one friend who was originally born in Hong Kong. I’m Japanese and yet many people, even other asian people, mistake us as twins. I knew another girl who was filipino but she was light skinned like I was and people thought we were sisters as well. Yet, there was another girl who was actually Japanese yet no one even thought the other girl was even japanese and we look nothing alike, even though we are of the same country of origin.

Also, even within the same nationality, looks may vary from even region to region. A northern chinese person most likely will look different from a southern chinese person and a northern japanese person will look different from a southern japanese person. In my family, my mom’s side is from the north and my dad’s side is from the south. My mom’s side is all very tall (my grandmother was 5′8". super tall, especially for a japanese woman of her time, when the average was 5 feet.) they mostly have smaller, more slanted but deeper set eyes with all double eyelids, chiseled faces and fuller figures. My dad’s side is all very petite (my grandma on that side is 4′6"), they have larger, rounder yet not very deeply set eyes with most having double eyelids but some having monolid eyes, round faces and are very slim. I don’t know if their looks are particularly typical but there is definately a difference.

So someone can say that this race has larger eyes or this race has smaller noses or whatever but that will likely be true to maybe 60% of the population at most.
