Turning Japanese – A Critique of Yellow face.

Work to be submitted to my Asian American Studies class. In it, i superimpose the image of Japanese American silent film star Sessue Hayakawa over parts of my face screened out using a chroma key effect. It is intended to be a 21st century critique of the use of yellowface makeup in classic Hollywood cinema and today, in works as varied as The Good Earth (1937), and Norbit (2007).
